ART TEST - BIG HERO 6 ANIMATED SERIES, DISNEY
Dynamic, energetic style heavy on the physical comedy
This was the first art test I had completed for Disney Television Animation. The setup for the scene saw Hiro, disinterested in an exam he needed to take, talking an ever-helpful Baymax into taking his place. Strong emphasis on gesture and character interaction.
I sought advice on this project from several sources, including an animation writer friend and a director he had been working with. They helped me develop physical humor, such as putting the camera in Hiro’s backpack or playing up how he shoves Baymax awkwardly into the pod.
